We asked ourselves what we should do for the children, and they asked us what we had to ask. we got our money back. When the food arrived, we asked for ketchup and they said they had none. which type of caffe does not have ketchup? properly epic to reach also the loo that is located outside. not great with two young children. on one side the coffee was beautiful, but the overall experience was disappointing and over price. will not come back.
In gullivers for a business coffee and cake, because we tied up trying somewhere new. lemon drizzle cake was absolutely delicious - in any case up there regarding the best cake in exeter! it would have been nice to have some more options. but the quality of food was very good.
Whenever I am in exeter (south not often enough I go to gullivers for a coffee and sometimes a cake. I try to support local independent caffes if their products are good and the personal is friendly, and gullivers tick both boxes. after gulliver tried...the big high street coffee shops, gains more gulliver every time hands down for a far superior product that is usually cheaper. the coffee is made to its taste (or there is a selection of tees in a generous pot) and all cakes, I think, are baked by gulliver itself. the quality of the cake is excellent, with a homemade flavor, but also with a professional finish. there are in the rule a good selection of cakes/breads to choose (carrot, lemon drizzle, chocolate fudge) and a few new vegan options that are just as delicious if not better than usual! if a tempting tea/coffee and cake is her ding, then they give gulliver’s a try and they will not be disappointed!
Were passing and it looked inviting. 2 coffees and a lemon drizzle cake to share The lemon drizzle cake was THE BEST. At last a place that realises that a lemon drizzle cake should taste of lemon, and the sponge it was made of light,...moist and delicious too. The coffee well that's a different matter. Why is it that every coffee shop nowadays serves their coffee at a temperature that means you could drink it straight down. I order a hot drink because I want it hot, not tepid.
We know coffee in Exeter and have hesitated to check out the reputation at Gullivers; could it be that good? Wow!! very personal service (nice to meet you G) fantastic generous coffee and superlative cakes. We don't like the seating (too squashy for old fogies)...but a minor nag, we will be back!!
