The Milk Barn - Falkirk

We had a wonderful experience at this restaurant on a Sunday for a quick meal. I ordered the lentil soup, which was absolutely delicious and came with a hot, crispy roll. My husband had a sandwich that was also very tasty. We also enjoyed lattes and a cake, all served with a friendly smile. We highly recommend this restaurant.

We have visited The Milk Barn several times without any issues since it first opened. However, when we visited this week as a treat for the kids before school started, we encountered a very unpleasant experience with the manager. Upon entering the restaurant, we found no clear direction on where to sit as the stand was cluttered with items instead of a sign or staff member. The manager proceeded to criticize customers for not finding a table, unaware that there was no clear instruction provided. Instead of politely guiding us to a table, she began arguing with her staff in front of us and other guests. Disappointed by the manager's behavior, we decided to order as little as possible for the kids and sat outside. Although the manager served us eventually and was polite, it was evident that she knew she had been rude. I tried to address my concerns by submitting a complaint on the Facebook page, only to be ignored. When I messaged again, I received messages from someone pretending to be the owner. Suspecting that the owner was not actually responding, I requested to meet with the owner, but my request was repeatedly ignored. This unprofessional behavior, including staff pretending to be the owner, was surprising and disappointing. The Milk Barn used to provide good service, but the recent experience was subpar. Despite the decent food and tasty ice cream, the prices were high. I hope that future visitors have a better experience, but I caution against waiting for staff assistance at the front door to avoid embarrassment. I will ensure my complaint reaches the owner directly to address these issues.

The restaurant offers a fantastic selection of gluten-free options. The gluten-free ice cream cones are individually packaged for safety. The server went above and beyond by changing into new blue gloves to handle my cone and was diligent in pointing out which options were not gluten-free. The food was not only safe for me to eat, but also incredibly delicious.

Been here quite a few times and always enjoy it loads. Fabulous selections of ice creams, so so nice. Lovely toasties and paninis too and great coffee. Lovely setting

We stayed at an Airbnb nearby and visited the Milk Barn 3 times in our 4 days in the area! Lovely food, coffee ice creams. My boys enjoyed the bouncy pillow, swings and we had a football with us to use with the net. Lovely scenery around the farm. Yes, food is a tad on the pricey side but eating out is these days? We had breakfast here the morning of our journey back home the portions both adult and Children’s were big! The ice cream portions/scoops were also generous. It’s a good job really I don’t live locally otherwise I would have no money and be the size of a house!!!
