The food presented beautifully, but the curry was extremely salty and the saltines level that I'm used to is much higher than everyone else around me. The food price is a bit higher than other places. There's a mini tablet screen on the partition where you can order what you want on it which is really cool, not the usual menu book and the server comes to take your order.
Decided to try Yayoi at market city today and found the staff very friendly, polite and fast! Ordered the soy milk wagyu beef hotpot with a side of curry, it’s was good. It came with rice, vege, noodles, beef, toufu, etc. it was a pretty decent set meal. Beef was cooked to perfection, soy milk broth matched the beef nicely and the toufu was succulent. The udon noodles however was a little springy and may not have match the dish nicely. In my opinion, perhaps soba like thin noodles would’ve fit the dish better instead of the udon’s thickness. Price wise isn’t too friendly considering the atmosphere and the ambience. There’s a few set dishes that I wouldn’t mind coming back to try. Unagi was one of them.
I ordered a Saba shio-yaki and fell in love on the first bite. The fish was fresh and cooked just right. It goes so well with the steamed rice and the small bowl of miso soup with curly fried tofu. After the scrumptious lunch, I ordered the Matcha Anmitsu. That was very satisfying. It's got a very nice matcha flavoured ice cream with so many fruits and adzuki beans. My new favourite dessert when in Market city. I will definitely be coming back. Service was fast and staff members were friendly.
Always beautiful Japanese food, served promptly and precisely after ordering on an iPad. The wagyu on rice is sensational.
