The scones were delightful, their sandwiches were amazing, and the tea was some of the best I’ve ever had! Definitely recommend!Dietary restrictions: When making a reservation, they make sure to ask for dietary restrictions. I’m not sure what their options are but I do know you have to reserve a seat 2 hours before you arrive. I am pretty sure that they prepare your food within that two hours (since everything comes out pretty quickly) and with that time they can most likely accommodate your needs or concerns.
Purple Door was very accommodating. They were able to offer outstanding service and excellent food to our afternoon tea party, even with our dietary restrictions, and some of our party showing up 20 minutes late to the reservation. We had one gluten free and sugar free person, and one vegetarian, and no one left disappointed. You get your money's worth with the food. The mushroom soup and finger sandwiches were delightful, and there are a variety of nice teas to choose from. The setting is quaint and adorable. The only small complaint I would have is that the lighting may be a bit too dim inside. I do not regret supporting this charming small business. I would recommend Purple Door to anyone looking for an afternoon tea party, and I fully intend to visit them again.*Note: Please make sure to let them know about any dietary restrictions ahead of your reservation!Vegetarian options: Plenty of good, hearty vegetarian soup and sandwiches. You will not be disappointed by a cheap salad substitute or a plain cheese sandwich. They offer real, flavorful vegetarian food specifically made for vegetarians. Just let them know ahead of your reservation!
Highly recommend! They were able to deliciously accommodate my gluten free request for the Afternoon Yea service. The service was impeccable and a beautiful atmosphere.Dietary restrictions: They can accommodate dietary restrictions with advanced notice.
Very nice set up! Easily accommodated or large group. Nostalgic furniture and pictures. The circus looking dolls really didn't fit the decor as set up, but perhaps would have been great in another setting. Beautiful exterior. Would love to attend with a smaller group, to enjoy the esthetics of the surroundings. The scones were fresh, tasty and delicious (wish we were offered more, only had one a piece) The mushroom soup was delicious! OMG! the run cake was superb! Salad was fresh and delicious, to include chicken salad. Portions were small. Very nice porcelain tea settings! Perhaps I'm unfamiliar with the correct intake of tea but I think honey and perhaps agave should be offered as sweetners along with the sugar/ sweetener packs. I like the way in which the meal was introduced and explained. Servers were very cordial and attentive. Understand this is a tea room, no coffee, no juice, no sodas... they have tea. Not quite sure how many offerings of tea they have not types, because of the function we had, the types were pre- selected as black and herbal. It would be more appealing if the individuals at each table could select the tea or perhaps have a selection process for introducing tea to people as an experience. The menu online is very confusing and seems costly, may deter guest. I'd like to experience again, but not certain how, based on how the menu is reflective. They must take into consideration that bit everyone is okay with consuming alcohol, offer alternatives to the tim cake or the soup or dish prepared with wine.Vegetarian options: Upon requestKid-friendliness: Child must be disciplined to not touch the nice things that are set around. Must be able to sit without bumping the tables as many have settings on them that are porcelain or glass. Very nice place to dress up and have a classy outingParking: In the midst of the neighborhood and business area. Parking limited on the residential street and in main street there's a few spaces. Approx 5 spaces in rear where entrance isWheelchair accessibility: Spaces are tight thing to the main dining area, so I'd let them know ahead of time that space will be needed so the arrangements can be changed around for easy maneuvering of a wheel chairDietary restrictions: Servers somewhat asked about dietary restrictions, however I would call ahead to check menu to assure a good experience
Small servings- Servers were not readily available for asking for more water or hot tea. Ambience was excellentFood: 3/5
