Despite the quick arrival of our drinks, it took 55 minutes for our basic order of home chowder, salads, and cheese pizza to come out. The atmosphere was quiet and unexciting, with no explanation or apology for the delay. To make matters worse, our chowder never arrived and the waitress blamed the chefs. It's disappointing because the restaurant does seem to have potential.
The chowder was delicious, the fried fish was light and not oily. The staff was attentive and friendly.
The food at this restaurant was really disappointing... I wouldn't recommend it! We ordered fried mussels, roasted squids, French fries, a grilled cheese and bacon sandwich, coleslaw, and gravy. We were surprised to find out that gravy was an extra charge that we weren't aware of until we received the bill. The mussels had shells mixed in, the coleslaw was served in a small portion, and the grilled cheese sandwich seemed to be made with American cheese. The bacon was soggy and the bread fell apart easily. Despite the friendly service, the food needs improvement. The menu has potential but the cooking needs an upgrade. It didn't meet our expectations.
Mo's is one of very few restaurants along this Nova Scotia coastline. It serves good food and has good service. The gal who served us volunteered to help us find places in the area.
Stopped here for a late lunch yesterday. I had the fish and chips and my husband had the woodfired meat pizza. Both items were great. My fish was cooked all the way through and had a nice light batter on it. Not greasy at all like some places. Pizza was equally as good. Fresh with plenty of toppings a d cheese. We will definitely eat here again if we are in the area.
