La Locanda - FOGLIANISE

We found this place by accident; we were actually lost and attempting to do a 3 point turn when the owner came out and offered to cook for us. As they were actually closed, she said she could either cook something of our choice but it would take a considerable length of time or she could surprise us and we could all eat the same meal. We opted for the surprise. Starter was italian meats with homemade bread, cheese and honey. Main meal was a simple pasta dish of tomato and basil but it was delicious! She explained (through charades as we speak no Italian and she very little English that the pasta was hand rolled, the tomatoes were from her garden. We drank homemade red wine (beautiful! and home brew limoncello. She brought out liqeurs to pur on our ice cream and coffees to finish- we were treat so well we didn't want to leave! We must have been in there for hours! ended up costing around 15euros each! The view over Foglianese and the overall atmosphere (despite being the only ones in were also great. Seriously recommend visiting here, i cannot praise it enough!

Beautiful little guest house nestled in the mountains in Foglianise, Italy.....spectacular panoramic view....beautifully decorated.....great place to get back in touch with nature.....warm and hospitable hosts that make it a memorable visit....absolutely amazing food in restaurant..... authentic, regional cuisine....they grow most of the ingredients used in their dishes...fresh homemade pasta, breads desserts....simply delicious......great place to relax and enjoy beauty, nature and great food!

Excellent and high quality food, typical dishes and more. You must try to prepare the pasta from the restaurant (especially the filled), the Stracotto all'aglianico and the excellent desserts on the same day!!! I recommend you to book because otherwise you are in danger of being sent home .. in the inn it is not usual to freeze food! A charming place for events (birth days, baptism, confirmations, communions, weddings) as well as for a happy and relaxing day in the name of good food and nature. PS. Bring your children to this magnificent place... you will return home with the desire to return as soon as possible. Ask Michela to offer you something to entertain your children. It will certainly come full of games, felt pins, stuffed animals and a large carpet where you can lay down and play with them. In spring and summer you will also find a huge carpet with feathers, a slide and rides for the little ones. I always recommend this place!

Try to call to book, it is absolutely worth trying. exquisite lunch, served by friendly, competent people and doing this job with sincere passion. all great, from appetizers to dessert, passing through the first, all accompanied by excellent local wine, in an impeccable location. I hope I'll be back soon. deserves stars and more
