By 1:15, the place was 3/4 full, with a mix of work lunch-goers and older Vietnamese families. The service was okay and the lunch menu was slightly different from what was shown on Zomato. I ordered the medium Vego Pho, which was a large portion filled with goodies for $11. The broth was really good and there were plenty of bean shoots, noodles, fresh herbs, and nice tofu. The carrot and broccoli were slightly softened, but still had a nice touch. Both myself and my companion found it to be very flavorful, rating it 4.5 stars. I also had the Vermicelli salad with grilled pork and prawn spring rolls for $14. It was another large portion with a flavorful vinaigrette. The spring rolls were good with a nice filling and not too much pastry. The pork was flavored nicely with lemongrass, but was a bit chewy at times, rating it 3.5 stars. I don't usually eat red meat, but if I did, I would prefer the Vermicelli salad with 'Beef in vine leaf' at either Hao Phong in Footscray or Binh Minh in Richmond. Next time we visit, we are torn between getting a small Vego pho each or sharing a large Vego pho and a plate of prawn spring rolls - 'first world problems' indeed.
This restaurant serves the best pho in the Western region! The broth is flavorful, the noodles are perfect, and they have just the right ratio of noodles to broth to beef. This is my favorite place to get pho! Definitely worth a try, although it can be a bit expensive.
I had heard great things about the pho in Footscray, so I decided to try it out for myself. I had lunch at Saigon Pho and was impressed by the cleanliness of the restaurant and the friendly staff. I was seated promptly and offered some tea, which was a nice touch. Instead of ordering pho, I opted for the vermicelli salad with roast pork and spring rolls, a dish I had enjoyed in the past. It did not disappoint - the portion was generous and the flavors were delicious. The spring rolls were crispy and flavorful, the salad was fresh, and the pork was well-cooked. The accompanying sauce had a unique flavor that took some getting used to, but I ended up enjoying it. Overall, Saigon Pho is a must-visit for anyone in the area looking for delicious Vietnamese cuisine.
Pho • Hung • Vuong • Saigon ATTENTION!!! PHO!!!! Omg pho, springs rolls, Bbq chicken.... honestly what else could you ask for in life??? This place is just cramped day and night, with a glass window at the front, you can see everyone slurping on the pho, so trust me your eye won’t miss it. It gives you vibes of Vietnam without leaving Footscray. Real quick service, and prices from $6 to $16, it’s more of an in and out, rather then a sit back and gaze into your lovers eyes sort of vibe, but you definitely leave the place about to pop!!! #foodporn #pho #footscray #foodblogger
The best pho in Footscray! friendly staff, fresh (and consistent) pho and very clean! I love that we never have to wait for a table too a hidden gem!
