Enjoy
This hotel is ok, not one I would brag home about lol. The room met our needs for the week, we were there for work. The windows are not properly sealed as flies were constantly getting in daily to the point that it was kind of gross. The elevator was also pretty slow and the fridge and bathroom made noise all day and night so that was a nuisance. Otherwise it was an ok stay.
My husband and I chose to stay at this extended stay facility because it was pet friendly, close to the sites we wanted to visit, and close enough for us to get to Upstate Medical University for a ceremony. We originally planned on staying there for four days but hoped to extend our time there if the room was available. Upon arrival, the evening staff greeted us warmly. However, they couldn't seem to find my reservation. After searching frantically for a while, they finally found the reservation. We were checked in and given our room keys. The room, on initial inspection, looked clean. I usually bring my own cleaning sprays and disinfecting wipes/ solutions since I am a bit skeptical about how clean the room truly is. Upon our arrival, we wiped the entire room down, disinfected it completely and found that the floors hadn't been mopped in heaven knows how long. The floor wipes we used to clean the bathroom and kitchen floors were black as tar! It seems that they were never cleaned! The rugs didn't look thoroughly vacuumed either. The very next morning, we realized that we had a lot more to contend with. The shower and toilet were clogged. My husband called the front desk. They sent us a bottle of liquid plumber. The toilet then worked; not the bath tub. To boot, the hotel does not change the sheets daily or even every other day. The following morning, they did not come to the room to clean it. As I had stated, the tub would clog up. We ended up putting two bottles of Liquid Plumber down the drain. The second bottle we went to the store and bought! Nothing changed. In addition, they left one roll of toilet paper the entire time we were there and you had to ask for fresh towels if you wanted them! My husband also had to ask them to get the garbage out of the room! Can you imagine that???? Even-though we asked nicely to please have someone come up to change the sheets and tidy the room up, they refused. They stated that they do it once a week. That's it! I travelled both Domestically and Internationally for over 40 years. I averaged about 20 trips a year. I am very accustomed to staying at all types of hotels. I have stayed in many extended stay places, luxury hotels and B B's. My experience has been that the majority of these hotels clean the rooms thoroughly daily. In some hotels, they may change the sheets every other day but clean the room entirely and put new towels and toiletries in place. You always can request daily changing and cleaning if you choose to do so. This was just so bizarre. I realized the second day that nothing would be done in the room. We didn't see housecleaning staff anywhere in the corridors. I went to the desk before leaving the hotel to request the room to be cleaned and beds changed. They told me they normally did not do that but that they could tidy it up a bit for us. We came back and the sheets were the same dirty sheets from the day before. They left some towels; so they stated. My husband stated that they didn't change the towels at all. Luckily, we had brought towels from home, so it didn't matter. The following day, I spoke to the people at the front desk. Both women who were at the desk informed me that they would NOT be cleaning the room or changing the sheets! They would put some fresh towels if needed. That is all that they would be willing to do! I was stunned at their lack of customer service. My husband took the garbage out nearly daily. We bought at the store another bottle of liquid plumber for the tub. It still didn't work! As you showered, the water filled the tub completely within minutes. You would have to continually put it off to let the water drain completely before continuing to shower. Your 15 minute shower becomes a 45 minute shower! We were pissed!!! This stay ruined our trip completely! So, we left earlier than planned. We couldn't wait to get home. Beware!!!!! I would have given this place a zero rating if at all possible.
The motel is the absolute best motel that we have ever stayed at. We went to visit my son in law, daughter, and grand kids on base for Christmas. The rates are wonderful, the breakfast bar is great, the motel is clean, the staff is accommodating. We got caught in a blizzard with a travel ban, they extended our stay for a lower rate, no questions asked. They helped us know when we could travel and were even willing to let us extend again if needed. The motel store kept us from starving to death for those two extra nights. I had a brief sickness while there and they provided Lysol and extra linen and trash bags. I will be staying here every time that I go to Fort Drum and need a room. They deserve 5 stars all the way around.
Poor experience. Staff lacking any type of customer service knowledge. Rooms are small and musty. Photos on website are not a fair representation of actual rooms. I paid for a queen size bed and received a full sized bed. Furniture was worn and unacceptable. Do not stay here.
