There was 5 of us so we got two sets and 4 bowls of cold noodles with extra noodles and the spicy squid. Cold noodles are hard to make and not all Korean restaurants make it! We love cooking here for the cold noodles!
Yuchun Korean Restaurant near Ala Moana is recommended for those in the area. The menu boasts a diverse selection, including Bibimbap, Tteokguk, and Naengmyeon. Bibimbap is a flavorful Korean rice bowl with rice, vegetables, meat, and egg, accompanied by a side of spicy sauce. Tteokguk is a savory Korean soup with sliced rice cakes, beef, and vegetables. Additionally, Naengmyeon is a refreshing Korean cold noodle dish served with spicy sauce, sliced beef, and vegetables.
Stopped in when they weren’t crowded in mid afternoon and about five minutes later the place filled up completely with what seemed to be many regulars. They made me a plant based bibimbap and it was delicious. Came out beautifully arranged, sizzling in the pot. While they felt they house kimchi might not be plant based, they have another version that came with sprouts and daikon, and of course hot sauce, to complete the meal. That golden crisp rice from the bottom had me wanting an appetite that allowed for a second serving! They have been in business for a very long time, it showed and I will be back.
I was incredibly excited to see Yu Chun in Oahu! It’s an LA/OC chain that is famous for cold noodles and galbi. The food here was SO SATISFYING with ice cold slushy noodles, al dente chewy noodles with the perfect broth flavoring. The service was prompt and the ladies who work here are so sweet. I could eat here every day!
