Lohrberg Schanke - Frankfurt am Main

We were staying in Frankfurt for my nephews birthday and he had arranged for us all to come to this restaurant bar .. it’s outside the city in a nice rural setting . There are excellent views of the surrounding area .. initially we were sat outside but there was the threat of a downpour which did materialise so we moved inside .. the interior was nice and to my untrained eye typically German . The beer was good and plentiful as was the food .. overall we had a great night .

While visiting a friend who grew up in Frankfurt but now lives in Munich, he suggested that we must try this restaurant, both for the food and the views it offers of the city. He was right on both accounts! While we visited in the winter, the restaurant has a large patio that makes me want to stop back on a summer trip. I had schnitzel with Grune Sauce , which is a sauce local to the Frankfurt region. It was absolutely delicious, along with a house made spiced apple drink. The place has a great, warm atmosphere and a friendly staff. It 's also a nice retreat from the busy city of Frankfurt, about a 15 minute drive from the city center.

If you 're looking to spend a nice day just out from the busy city of Frankfurt, just a 15 min drive you 'll find the Lohrberg Schänke , lovely place with a nice view to the skyline of Frankfurt, with such a friendly and polite staff, the food was excellent, well presented to wich was such a surprise becouse from those kind of places you don 't always expect a nice presentation from your dish. We will definitely come back!!!

This was the perfect place to enjoy German cuisine with a wonderful panoramic view overlooking the city.

We enjoyed our Sunday afternoon lunch here. The place was full of people. The mood was good, there was a live band playing German party music. The service was taking good care and the food tasty. Nice place.
