The staff and atmosphere was great. Very friendly service. Nice little pizza parlor and ice cream shop. One thing I wanted to comment on was one of the flavors at the ice cream parlor. I had the ?red white and blue? flavor ice cream and was very disappointed with the taste. It was almost all vanilla ice cream when they advertised raspberry and blue berry syrup mixed into the flavor. My family commented how their ice cream tasted super icy. All in all, I would go back to
Skip the pizza. The pies were very amateur, not nearly as good as Pistarro's, Pretzel Pizza Creations, or any of a number of other places in downtown Frederick. Mine wasn't charred like a good Neopolitan; it was legitimately burnt, looking like it just fought Obi Wan Kenobi in the Star Wars prequels. The crust was mediocre and the flavor just wasn't there, especially for the price and the quality reputation of South Mountain's products. The incredible ice cream
Perfect old-fashioned ice cream: rich, creamy, deeply flavored and not overly sweet. It?s very rare to find ice cream like this today. Great to have this shop in downtown Frederick. Scoops are generously portioned and service is friendly. The ?C is for Cookies? ice cream was superb: cookie dough and Oreo chips in a swoon-worthy vanilla base. The peanut butter ice cream was excellent. The South Mountain Creamery itself is ~25 minutes away by car, in
Great little icecream find! Perfect spot to grab some delicious icecream and enjoy the downtown area. The icecream is creamy and they offer a good selection. Plus, they are reasonably priced!
