On today's visit, I told them about my missing salsa from yesterday's order, and they compensated me with some queso which from other reviewers claim is amazing. Thank you for understanding. Giving them another star for good customer service. If the taste, service, and price stays consistent, I will definitely give them five stars. Buy with confidence. ???? Update 09/01: Returned for another round of tamales. Give them another try. Thinking maybe the last batch was dry and this time they're better. I was right. The batch I got this time wasn't dry. Moist, flavorful, and didn't crumble like my first order. The first visit was a good experience, so I figured I'll give them repeat business. On this trip, I ordered a dozen chicken tamales, chips, and salsa. I got the tamales and chips, but the salsa was not included in my bag. Only found out when I got home. I even gave a 20% tip for the service. Tip should be done after receiving your order not during payment for the order. I called to request a refund for the salsa I didn't receive. I was told they'll call me back. It's been 45 minutes still no call-back. Due to this I'm deducting a star. If you order from here, be sure to check your bag to ensure you got your full order before you leave. Update: I was not expecting a big bag of chips! Awesome! The tamales are sweet and savory, but a bit dry for my taste. They're rather small, but the quantity is sufficient. You have two options of buying a dozen hot for $9 or a dozen frozen for $8. There's spicy pork, mild pork, chicken, and bean tamales to choose from. You also get two options for salsa. Red is spicy, and green is extra spicy. Additionally, they serve guac and queso to go with your chips, but you have to pay extra for those. Overall, for one person I think a dozen would suffice to satiate your craving. The prices are reasonable and the taste is good, but I deducted one star due to the dryn
The tamales were not the best. We got two kinds, both types had little filling and one type (on the left) you can tell had been sitting out for a while due to the hard outside and lack of moisture. Both the spicy pork and jalapeño were bland. If you are looking for quality tamales i advise look elsewhere.
Love the taste. Stop in anytime. Variety of tamales to chose from. Owner is always swift, friendly, appreciative and consistent. Been coming here since the 90s but they have been here since the 70's. Same location so it's easy to find. See ya soon!
Not only are the tamales awesome, I have never had jalapeño and cheese tamales and they are fantastic!!! Not to mention the to die for red salsa!!! ????????10/10 recommend. Great customer service and great food for pretty cheap!!
Omg I'm so disappointed! We thought this place was a hidden gem but how in the world?! These have to be store bought and frozen. They were disgusting. My husband and daughter couldn't eat theirs. I had two, one of each, then couldn't eat any more. They're all going in the trash. We got chicken and spicy pork. There is no way these are homemade, no way! We are both blown away by all the raving reviews. Either they're fake or the truck is selling different tamales on different days. There is no way that many people think these gas station tamales are the best in town. They're very tiny, have a small amount of minced frozen meat, taste like a frozen dinner and so dry you can hardly swallow it. I will give credit to the queso, it was really good.
