Casa Itália - Funchal

The only thing good about this place was the service. The gentleman waited on our table (btw he was the only waiter for all the inside and outside tables) was really lovely and efficient. But it isn 't even remotely a real Italian restaurant (there isn 't such a thing in Italy as Spaghetti Bolognese or Expresso). My husband was quite happy with his pizza but mine had half raw mushrooms and no taste. Desserts were also mediocre. We wanted a little break from all the fishes and espetadas so we went there but wouldn 't go there next time.

Good italian style food, good prices and marvelous service. Nice place to spend time with good food and good climate.

Lovely venue for a family meal with great service and very good quality food. Thoroughly enjoyable all the way from the delicious bruschetta through to the fresh and copious salad and main courses, all top notch. Desserts focussed heavily on ice cream and a few of the menu options were missing but by then, we were too immersed in the pleasant ambience to be bothered by that.

We were recommended this place by a friend. We sat inside which had air con. The service was slow but we was a table of 8 and the restaurant was full. This wasn’t a problem for us as we were in no rush anyway. The food was lovely. The cheesy garlic bread especially. The kids meals are a really decent portion. The cake sizes are massive for the price. My only recommendation is that the staff are aware of what cut the steak is as the waitress nor the bar staff knew and didn’t make any attempt to ask the chef.
