Creperie Saint Michel - Gaillac

We sat outside overlooking the square on a hot night as the sun went in. Although we were the only guests our food and service was excellent and unhurried. All the galettes were of a very high standard and the sweet crepes a delight - we all really enjoyed them.The interior looked nice and so it might be a venue for poor weather. I suspect they are mostly a lunchtime venue, as we retuned a week later for dinner to find them closed. If you like a pancake, this is one of the best.

After having a disappointing meal elsewhere we decided to give this place a try. Excellent crepes had by all and good coffee too.

We arrived at 2pm and I felt rushed. I had a very good salad to start with. My crepe was noting special. My wife enjoyed hers. The cider was very good. The restaurant was easy to find. It was not worth a revisit.

At this Creperie in the delightful old Place de Griffoul in downtown Gaillac, there is an amazing lunchtime bargain awaiting you. For just ten euros (yes, €10) you can get a marvellous starter of grilled goat's cheeses with a crisp salad dressed with the excellent house honied vinaigrette; followed by a superb - and large - rustic galette with three fillings (from a choice of ten) that you choose. Believe it or not, you also get a free pitcher of local red or white wine or a Normandy cider to drink. Not just amazing value, but skilfully prepared and cooked by a very committed Sébastien, and served with care and attention by the lovely Véro. This is definitely the best bargain - quality and quantity - in the Gaillac town or region that we have come across. It's like a very welcoming fanmily restaurant that enjoys your appetite and appreciation. Congratulations to both Véro

Really lovely crepes in this simple and unassuming restaurant. We went there for lunch, and I had a delicious galette with bacon, potato and gruyere cheese while my husband had the smoked salmon with potato, creme and chives. There is a huge range of both savoury and sweet crepes on offer, the service was pleasant and friendly, and the price was really reasonable. It's also located only a couple of minutes walk from the Office de Tourisme and thus very close to the center of town. We will definitely be visiting many more times!
