Great taste, great quality, almost twice as much the cost as a regular sushi joint. Its worth it though (once in a while haha, it is expensive considering they were voted best Sushi in Ottawa. Service was also outstanding : .

This restaurant is a wonderful place with excellent food and service. The ambiance of the lovely setting makes us feel comfortable. The meals were amazing, authentic Japanese cuisine!

Finally, a sushi joint in Gan AND IT 'S FANTASTIC! I 'm so glad Sushi Chef Shin and her husband came to Gananoque. They were originally located in Manotick and were voted CTV Ottawa 's Best Sushi and with good reason. The building used to be the old Dirty Bird aka KFC in town but you would never know. They renovated it so the layout and decor look lovely inside. It 's clean and service is always very quick. They are very welcoming and courteous. The tables are well spaced out, so as much as I love to see what others are eating, it creates a more private/intimate experience. Now, back to the food. It is more expensive then the average but the ingredients are always fresh and expertly put together. For the take out pictures, I ordered the tofu salad $11) and spider roll $15). I 've had numerous other rolls from their menu and they 're always tasty, fresh and well made. Tofu salad Sliced soft tofu on a bed of spring greens. Topped with sesame seeds and drizzled with a sesame dressing. The fukujinzuke type of Japanese pickle) is a nice touch too. Spider roll Soft shell crab, cucumber and crab meat. Tempura crumbs on the outside adds a nice texture to each bite. I also like how they put in the effort for a cute garnish even for take out. A gari pickled ginger) rose and a carrot and radish flower. Chef Shin truly is an expert. Worth the money if you 're in town and need to get your sushi fix! You can tell they care a lot about the quality of food and the service they give their customers. They 're also both very sweet and wonderful to talk to. I definitely recommend people to check it out!

We had a great experience with the service at this restaurant. The lobster tempura was a standout dish that we all enjoyed. However, the chicken teriyaki bowl was a bit disappointing as it was served cold, not in the traditional hot style.

Extra small portions. Got the BBQ bowls since sushi refrigerator had nothing in it. It came with rice and salad mixed in. Not described as a salad bowl. Weird. Repeat do not come here. Total rip off. Ignore other reviews.
