Le Cedre Vert - Gardonne

Very cozy place filled with native and hunter for a satisfying plate du jour! would recommend every day.

After we have heard that it had changed the hands and was now under new management, we recently revisited this restaurant after a long absenteeism by a disappointing meal of previous management. what a pleasant difference. the greeting was warm and friendly, even if it was. in the evening, we had not booked in advance, and we arrived very close to their advertised closing time. we were not able to feel at any time, and the waitress with a wonderful personality and sense of humor has made us feel at home. this is a family-run traditional French restaurant, now with really good, essentially French background, but tasty and abundant food. most wonderful is that even in the evening the set 4-course menu (as for lunch) is only €14.50! and this includes a karaffe weinrot or rosé, which has proven to be very drinkable. the starter is a helper, with about one dozen or more items on it, including eier moimosa, sink, 2 pieces sausage, garnel and several interesting salads. all saw and tasted fresh and were delicious. the main course offered a choice of roast chicken and upper leg, or beef bourguignon. the chicken was apparently tender and tasty, while I can vouch for the rich deep of taste and the firm but tender and lean cattle lumps one of the best beef bourgouignons, I have ever tasted a real bourguignon, not a beef stone that often died as bourguignon. slightly roasted potato and a small salad garnish accompanied the main courses, and portions were abundant. followed a cheese course and then we chose desserts from a selection in a chilled display cabinet or from a selection of ice cream flavors offered. nothing ultrafancy, but fine to finish such a delicious and warming eating. service was efficient, humorous and very friendly, with many big smiles and nothing was too much annoyed. several much higher class (i.e. more expensive restaurants could learn a lot here. we were all very impressed and will surely return. the interieur is clean and bright, cheerful and welcoming, tables are well separated from each other, and there is a good atmosphere. and outside there is a very large free parking space. highly recommended for basic, non-gourmet and non-nouvelle cuisine excellent French family food.

Finally, my wife and I have made a visit to le cedre, near our house in gardonne. we've seen each other as hospitable, but something has always prevented us from doing so. but when we saw the signs that told us that it was. under new management we were even more determined to do this! our first attempt was abortiw, because the restaurant does not open on Monday. today we finally managed! waiting was rewarding. the interior is bright and spacious. the lady who served us was very pleasant and helpful. the buffet star had many variety, and everything we tried was delicious. then the main course came. we had both decided for the steak (the set meal provided the alternative of a fish dish) and we were delighted with what we received a good portion; tender and tasty; and cooked as we had ordered. the cheese course followed the dessert yummy my wife summarized our experience by stating that this is a place where we fortunately take guests who come to visit us! during this visit we recommend le cedre vert cordially and plan to visit again soon.
