I tried to address the issue with someone, but my concerns were ignored. Additionally, there was no mention on the menu that gravy would be poured over my steak. A good quality steak should never require sauce, and offering au jus would have been a much better choice. The service was lacking; the waitstaff was hard to find, and no one came by to check on our food or offer us another drink. To top it off, guests from the spa walked through the restaurant in their swimsuits and bathrobes, dripping wet. Overall, this experience did not live up to the 5-star rating they have online.
The service was very kind, and they accommodated us when we wanted to change tables to be near the fireplace. The food was good, around a 7/10, and the plates were beautifully presented.
I had planned my partner’s birthday celebration at the hotel spa a few months in advance. I made a reservation at Ono about 2-3 weeks prior through OpenTable on the restaurant's website. However, when we arrived, we were met with confusion. It felt like we were an inconvenience. One staff member loudly whispered, “On a pas d’espace!” (We don’t have space). A large group of six loud, rowdy men occupied tables along one side of the restaurant. When the waitress asked if they were expecting more guests, they responded no. She then moved a two-seater table a couple of feet away from their group and offered it to us, as if it were a grand gesture. Considering our desire for a pleasant birthday dinner rather than sitting next to a raucous group, we declined that table. Instead, we went to Kato, another restaurant within the hotel, where we had an excellent dinner. I highly recommend Kato. Unfortunately, I cannot recommend Ono at all.
I had planned a birthday getaway for my husband at the hotel spa a few months in advance, and I made a reservation at Ono about 2-3 weeks prior through Open Table via the restaurant’s website. However, upon our arrival, we were met with confused looks and evident frustration from the staff. It felt as if we were an inconvenience to them. One employee even whispered loudly to another, "On a pas d’espace!" (We don’t have room!). A boisterous group of about six men were occupying the tables along one side of the restaurant, and when the waitress asked if more people would be joining them, they replied no. She then moved a two-seater table just a couple of feet away from them and generously offered us that spot. However, I wasn’t keen on trying to enjoy my husband’s birthday dinner next to a party so oblivious to their surroundings, so we declined. Ultimately, we left and had a fantastic dinner at Kato (also located in the hotel), which I highly recommend. I would definitely advise giving Ono a miss.
The food was only mediocre. The filet mignon was overcooked despite my request for medium rare. When I tried to address the issue with someone, they seemed indifferent. Nowhere on the menu did it mention that gravy would be poured over my steak; a good quality steak should never need gravy and it should have been offered as an option. Au jus would have been a much better choice. The waitstaff was hardly present—no one came by to check on our meals or ask if we wanted another drink. Additionally, guests from the spa were wandering through the restaurant in their swimsuits and bathrobes, looking wet. This place does not deserve the 5-star rating it has online.
