El Patron Grill

My first visit to the El Patron restaurant was an excellent one! Not only was the food exceptional but the staff and servers were outstanding! Friendly, courteous and thoughtful are just a few words to describe them. When I was seated I was alone and was asked if anyone would be joining me. I said no and that I was taking myself out for my birthday. By the time I was finished with my meal, I was serenaded with a rousing happy birthday song, complete with a fried ice cream with a sparkler! It brightened my day! To top it off, my meal was taken care of by Juan and my drink was taken care of by Mariana! These two young people didn’t have to do this! But they made a senior citizens El Patron first experience a memorable one! Thank you Juan and Mariana and to the rest of the staff as well. If you are travelling through Gaylord Michigan a stop at the El Patron is a MUST! Parking: I parked in back. Handicapped parking and a large lot. A back door for entry. Very convenient!

So good the food came out fast and hot! Thus place is amazing and all the employees are amazing!

Not very enjoyable experience Food is very bland and lacking flavor Waitress never came back to check on us after we received our food. Never received any drink refills. Very judgemental staff. They were going back to the bar and talking in Spanish about our group. The waitress then handed off our table to another waiter. We paid in cash and they automatically assumed we were leaving a substantially large tip amount. We ended up having to ask for our change.

Great nachos. Clean restaurant. Wonderful and friendly staff.
