Carlton Hotel - Geelong

Very old building well worth the look. I've only been for lunch and thought the food was good. It wasn't what I was thinking but after being there, I'm not sure what I was thinking

After a long drive from Melbourne, we were in need of a pub to relax in.

This Art Deco pub in the heart of Geelong is a charming spot to enjoy a pub meal and drinks with friends.

The lunch menu is great with very reasonable prices. We visited on a Saturday for lunch and it was quiet, so our food arrived quickly. The staff were lovely.

I've been here for lunch several times. If you can look past the decor, which could either be described as eclectic or very tired and rundown, the food is very good pub food. I've only tried a few things on the menu but can certainly recommend them. The garlic and cheese pizza bread is one of the best I've had. The calamari salad is great, flash fried tender calamari on top of a garden salad with garlic aioli. The Ploughman's plate is also very nice. Staff are very friendly.
