We ordered two small fish teas which come with a hot drink (Tea or Coffee) which we both had Tea. and a can of Irn Bru. The fish tea advertised on the table menus was £7.95 each which if you do the maths £16.90 so we were charged £6.20 for a normal size can of Irn Bru. Earlier I had visited with a family member and we had two fish tea's with bread butter, two hot teas and peas and it was just under £20.00. Personally we shall not return after this experience and would advise anyone to scrutinze the bill so they don't experience the same over charging. We were charged £22.10
Popped in for a quick meal before heading out to the Hydro and the food was delicious. Clean plates all round. The service was great too. Portion sizes were huge which is good.
Myself, my friend 2 teenage boys ate here prior to going to the football, the food was excellent, chips were superb, chicken, steak pie and sausages were demolished by all. The lady serving was lovely friendly person. Will definitely be back in November before our next game. A typical old fashioned fish tea restaurant
Chips were under cooked and fish was bland. No taste at all. Nice being able to sit and service was good. Too bad about the food. Interesting as the place was full. I would skip
I live in the Middle East and it 's hard to find good traditional Fish Chips there, so whilst visiting home and on a shopping trip into Glasgow city centre I decided to walk up and give The Oxford a try after seeing a recommendation online. I certainly wasn 't disappointed! I ordered my favourite combo of a fish supper with a single sausage thrown in and curry sauce on the side. Everything was piping hot, crisp and tasted fresh and delicious the proper 'chippy chips ' were great. Definitely the taste of home I was needing. The staff were nice and friendly too. If you 're ever in the centre of Glasgow give this place a try.
