I ordered something that needed to be cooked fresh. The service was fast and the staff greeted me with a friendly smile. The restroom needed more attention, with signs of neglect such as dirty doors and an uncleaned toilet bowl.
On Saturday morning we were thinking about the place apart from two other couples. while we were only there or other couples came in. most strange for a Saturday morning, but perhaps not so, in consideration of the food we receive! “Smashed avocado with roasted turquoise tomaten, Danish feta poached eier on multigrain toast what an extreme case of misrepresentation! what we received were tiny slices of multigrain (vienna shaped) toast (from the size I suspect they were the ends of the laaf, and they had luck to be thick; not toast thick at all). the avocado was certainly not “painted” – it was “painted” and so sparingly spread that it resembled a scrap of butter on the toast. the eggs were tiny, and most “average” poached eggs I have ever eaten. the debris have to grow on the bush, as we receive or unripe small cherry tomatoes, half cut to see how much more on the teller. the miniskule quantity of rugged feta resembles nothing other than a teller garnish. I should have sent the food back in the after, but I didn't want to cause any fuss (the other few diners would have heard every word. the hot chocolate was very good (possibly one of the best I ever had, so they have this piece right – I think their coffee is good to the staff was courteous, but I would not say that there is any “service”. the menu was handed over to us as if it was an effort to even go to our table. we have not been offered table water at all, nor have we been asked if we want something extra after we have finished our meal. I will never go back, and I will definitely say to my friends not to disturb. Word-of-mouth is the best form of marketing for any company, and sad for raven hill caffe, they do it wrong!
In the morning coffee and cake. a limited selection of cakes and the only gluten-free option was the chocolate cake. that was too dense and very full. cappuccino was good, but not great. there are better options for coffee and cake!
I believe the owner of this restaurant has made a mistake by offering a deal for two people on Scoopon. While it may be cheap, the purpose of the deal on Scoopon is for customers to return and pay full price. I certainly will not be returning. The menu is very limited and poorly presented on folded paper. Our breakfast took a long time to arrive, and when it did, it was unappetizing: avocado toast with only two cherry tomatoes. Despite the menu listing smoked salmon, the owner claimed it had not been delivered. Even if this were true, why not send someone to purchase it from the supermarket? I could go on about the open toilet door facing the dining tables, the unfriendly expressions of the owners, and more, but I will end here. Enough said.
From the moment we called to make a reservation, we felt welcomed. The service was excellent and the menu had a great variety of options. Our food was perfect and they were able to accommodate my grandmother's needs without any issues. We were really pleased with our experience - A+!
