La Padella Fish - Glenrothes

I've been visiting this fish and chip shop for years, but the recent change in ownership has not improved things. The quality has become quite inconsistent; I've noticed overcooked items, and the steak pie is no longer as good as it used to be. The chips are much smaller than they used to be as well. On the plus side, I've always found the staff to be friendly and welcoming. However, there seems to be a lack of training regarding food terms and presentation. For instance, a "blaggis" is not the same as haggis, and one of my orders came with black pudding that was not properly cut in half. The only reason I still visit this chippy is because it’s local and convenient for us.

Absolutely fantastic fish and chips! I wouldn't choose any other place. Food: 5/5, Service: 5/5, Atmosphere: 5/5.

It used to be a fantastic place, but I’m not sure if there’s been a change in ownership since the staff has changed over. They’ve raised prices due to the cost of potatoes, and there’s a notice saying things will go back to normal once the new crop comes in, but it seems like we’re still experiencing a potato shortage. The biggest issue, though, was the sudden reduction in portion sizes last night! There were significantly fewer chips, and the usual half smoked sausage looked more like a third of its normal size. The battered jumbo sausages seemed unchanged, but the chips were extremely greasy. I’ll give it another try, but if this is how things will be moving forward, it might be the end of our long love affair!

Was missing a Spaghetti Bolognese from my order, I called restaurant and was argued with that they definitely put it in the bag. I told them it definitely wasnt here, they asked if I wanted it today or on my next order, I said today obviously. Was told it would be sent asap. An hour passed, so I called again and was told it was about to go out with the driver and that would be about 20 mins. I said if it wasnt here by then I'm coming to the shop to pick one up. Was told that would probably be quicker, so I said I want a refund and a Bolognese. TLDR: Missing item from order, was basically called a liar, waited over an hour to eventually have to go pick it up myself, and didnt end up eating it because it tasted rubbish anyways. Awful Customer Service. Won't order from here again. Plenty more Fish (and Chip shops) in the sea.
