The owner himself serves the food. We had a nice catch of the day (Whitefish) with a good greek salad. And, you get the local beer from tap as well.
This is an amazing local restaurant right on the water with a fantastic view. The food is all home made and they use local ingredients. The pizza is awesome and so is the local fish. We will be back to try more items on the menu.
There aren’t many options for eating out in Gore Bay. Buoys had just opened for the season and the seating was already full for the night when we arrived. In spite of that, staff were happy to let us know when our order was ready for pickup. Food is good.
I’ve been visiting the island for over 45 years and I’ve never had a worse dining experience. Stopped here to grab a bite, ordered drinks and then waited 45 minutes for food that never came!!! Finally the waiter arrive to tell us they didn’t put our order in. Received a half apology for the wasted time and not so much as a discount on our bill. Will never return.
My wife and I decided to drive from our hotel in Little Current and check out Gore Bay, about which we had heard good things. We parked at the harbour and we opted for lunch at Buoy’s. Normally we’ve already used Trip Advisor when deciding where to eat. Today was an exception. As an unplanned venue it worked out pretty well we both had lemon and herb grilled white fish with potato wedges and salad. The food was very good, and a healthier option than some of the meals we have been eating. We ate on their terrace overlooking the harbour. It was a relaxing atmosphere and we really enjoyed everything about it. Service was very friendly and helpful some chat about us coming from the UK and an interesting take on tipping in restaurants. Highly recommend eating at Buoy’s eatery. It’s a winner.
