It was really well prepared, and the chicken and I loved the dark beer that was served, a Koestritzer. But I recommend this restaurant also for another detail: there was a piano player who by his imprüvisations made all the guests swing and sing.
“ Zur Goldenen Schelle” in Gotha… December 15,2015we visited Gotha for the annual Christmas Market, we took the train to come here from Erfurt. After touring the Christmas Market, there are two different section of it, one at Margarethenkirche and the other at the renovated Town Hall Square.A local merchant recommended this restaurant to us for good food and service and we were NOT disappointed. It is a cozy little restaurant, not like a huge mess hall , it has separate dining rooms or intimate seating. The waitress was very pleasant and explained the menu. Since it was a cold Winter day she recommended a Russian soup called “ SDJANKA “to warm me up, and it was hot and delicious . We also had a vegetation dish “ Spinach Noodles “ with a salad on the side. The entire meal was very satisfying and we can recommend this restaurant to everyone, rest assured you get a good , home cooked meal here. ( see pictures )
