Good food top notch taste!! Small portions for high price

Peruvian here. I ordered pollen a la brasa with frits, salad, an additional part of rice and anticuchos. Anticuchos: 8/10 good taste, really good. Some pieces were to eat, but they were delicious. Rice: 9/10 I love rice, I know about rice and this rice was humble but delicious!! More garlic taste would be good. Fries: 9/10 they only need a little more salt. Pollo a la brasa : it breaks my heart, but I feel that someone sabotages the aspirations here. The first time I found this restaurant the chicken was delicious, that was in January. Now the chicken has consistently a gum-like taste and the skin is also kind. It also has a rubber-like strong smell. This is NOT how to taste Peruvian rotisserie chickens. And not because they don't have the ingredients. It must be a strange tweak in the season, maybe the oven must have some kind of service? but this rubbery smell/taste does not come from only thin air. I tried the rest of the plates like the green pasta THEYRE THE BOMB I just got the problem with the chicken. It is sad that the only option of the Peruvian rotisserie chicken in this part of Alabama it is so bad. Come on!

That's not a MEXICAN RESTAURANT? It's South American. If you come here for a generic American-style Mexican restaurant, you will be disappointed. The kitchen here is AMAZING! The waitress recommended a soup that was not on the menu and let me tell you that soup was a perfect compliment for the cold day out! I've been here for over 5 years and I've never been disappointed. The paella is also amazing and the portions are GENEROUS??????

I have eaten 3 times here, and I have ordered the Milanesa de Pollo, Lomo Saltado and Tallarines a la Huancaína, and I just have to say that the dishes in this place are amazing, their Peruvian cuisine is delicious and I would recommend it to everyone, hands down. The staff is also very friendly and a professional tip: try Her passion fruit juice, it's good with each of her dishes. A must when I come to Birmingham right now.
