This is a great local shop! very friendly customer service and offers delicious sandwiches. I come here all the time and is consistent!
Surprisingly good! You won’t find this level of Bahn mi even in metropolitans. Try #4 with grilled pork extra sauce.
Authentic Vietnamese stop that has a variety of goods: banh mi, rice plates, desserts/che, pastries, and fruit slush/boba. Overall there is plenty of parking in the plaza and some indoor seating if you 're planning to eat in. No issues with customer service. I 'm going to be honest, this is faaaaaar from the best banh mi or Vietnamese food I 've ever had but I 'm VERY happy to see an authentic place in the Triad. Def gets the job done for when I 'm craving authentic Viet food. Hearing the workers speak Vietnamese makes me feel very nostalgic of home and of the Vietnamese restaurants in California. I 've only had the special (dac biet) banh mi and it 's very sad to see how... not-filled the sandwich is? Single layer of cold meats, deli meat, very thin spread of pate, and barely any aromatics/pickled vegetables. Really missing out on the Viet mayo/butter. Baguette is light, nice, and freshly baked. Every banh mi is made to order as it should be. Tried the sticky rice with black eyed bean pudding (che dau trang) which was surprisingly very authentic but much too sweet for my liking. Also seemed like the dessert had been sitting in the fridge for a while, I 'm not sure how often they make and replace them. I did not like how the pudding already had the coconut milk on top, it was solidified and made the overall texture of the dessert less appetizing. Also tried the pig skin cake/Vietnamese layer cake which is steamed layer cake of tapioca starch, mung bean, coconut milk, and pandan. Happy to see that this was also pretty authentic but too sweet for my liking and more gelatinous than I 'm used too. Never had their rice plates or other hot food here, but would recommend going to a sit-in restaurant that specializes in Vietnamese food. Overall, I would not bring my Vietnamese parents here LOL.
Banh Mi Saigon is a gem to Greensboro and a great option for anyone looking for a quick meal or snack. Everything is super affordable and worth trying.
