La Contrada - GUBBIO

I have been here three times in the last month, with parties of 23,23,and 4 and everyone was so delighted that many have gone back and we go back again in a couple of weeks. We could not fault any part of the evening. A truly great Italian restaurant.

Good antipasti and bread and an authentic Italian restaurant. The waiters were very kind and forthcoming. We got sparkling wine for starters, and that was good. The gnochetti Al ragu didn’t contain that much meat, and the pizzas were slightly undercooked. The homemade pasta was delicious.

A very pleasant lunch. The owner welcomed us with a glass of sparkling wine. We chose the menu of the day for 18€, a bargain. A big plate of salumni and cheese with torta al testo and assorted bruschetta. Followed by a lovely soft omelet with truffles. Then a mixed grill plate of moderate quality, the weak point of the meal and the reason for a four star rating rather than five. The finale was a delicious custard, almost a bread pudding. House white wine was a Verdicchio, very nice. We took home some of the antipasto we could finish and a gift of torta al testo. Good food, friendly service and a pleasant room. Far better than the tourist restaurants in Gubbio.

Simple but cosy restaurant. very kind and friendly staff at the point GIUSTO..ottimo menu. plentiful meals and excellent .insomma promoted at full vote!
