Feedback gevenMy wife's co-workers love their cherry pie, but other than the red velvet whoopie pies, I've never gotten anything very good from here. We just tried the lemon meringue pie. I have no idea how one makes a tough, chewy meringue but they managed it. The filling was neon green and looked tasted like it came out of a can. I'm throwing away what's left.
(03/14/2013) Got 3 pies from Riehl's Bakery at the Pennsylvania Dutch Market in Hagerstown to celebrate Pi Day: Blueberry, Peach, and Caramel Apple Walnut. I thought the best of the 3 was the blueberry, but was outvoted for apple in our group. Filling was thickened and sticky, not overbearingly sweet. Pie crust was crumbly on the edges and top, and little doughy and thick on the bottom; a little texture from the crystal sugar sprinkled on top. Overall, pretty good specimens, would stop by if it's on your way.
