Clark Tearooms - Hambleton

I have been a customer at Clark's for more than 25 years, but I will never dine there again. I am fed up with the disrespectful and lazy staff, which has led to poor hygiene and subpar food quality. I ordered a chicken tikka jacket potato with salad, but was informed that they only had cucumber and tomato as options. When I received my order and opened the box, I found the smallest jacket potato that was cold and hadn't even begun to melt the butter or cheese. There were only 3 pieces of cucumber and a soggy tomato. It was absolutely disgusting. When I went back inside to request a refund, I witnessed staff chopping lettuce, indicating that the person who told me there was no salad simply couldn't be bothered to prepare it. The staff was rude, rushed, and made serving me seem like a burden. The overall cleanliness of the restaurant was appalling, which explains their low hygiene rating. On another occasion, I called to place a food order for pick-up (an omelette), a dish I have been ordering for years, only to be told they no longer offer it. It seems they simply don't care to accommodate their customers. I would advise avoiding this restaurant if you are looking for good food and friendly service.

I went to the market shop to pick up some pies for my friend. She called the shop at 2:30 pm to add a few more pies to her order, and they said it was okay. However, when I got there at 2:50 pm, the shop was already closed, with the lights off and the sign on the door saying it was closed. Unfortunately, I was unable to collect the pies for my friend.

My wife and I stopped by to get two sandwiches to go. We ordered beef sandwiches, but were disappointed. They were too large and should have been cut in half. The beef slices were too thick and should have been sliced thinner. We couldn't even eat them. We were expecting better. It's a shame.

Lovely and clean. Amazing cream cakes. A lovely bakery to call in to whether to take away or have a treat and eat in. Also serve hot food.

If you want a great full English breakfast, you can't beat Clarks Family Bakers in the Market Place. Washed down with a cup of good Yorkshire Tea can't fault it.
