Hong Kong Garden - Hampstead

I love their food, but the owner doesn't speak much English and sometimes ordering has been difficult.

Nice tasting Chinese food. My spouse orders the Vegetable Lo Mein, and I order the General Tso’s chicken. We also order regular egg rolls, crabmeat wontons, and wonton soup. We haven’t been disappointed once when patronizing this restaurant. They do their ordering a bit weird, but I’m guessing they’ve been stiffed too many times. I’ll call on the phone to order take out. They’ll take your info, and tell you it’ll take about 20 minutes. But they don’t begin cooking until you get there and Pay for your order. So it’ll be anther 20 minute wait while you’re there. Like I said, I think they were stiffed by people ordering large meals, then not showing up. We occasionally go there and every time is the same they’ll process your order once you pay. Note: this is why they lost a star in this review. Anyway, the food we brought home has always been good. One time though it appeared the General Tso’s chicken was cooked twice some was quite hard. But it was still good I like crunchy things). The Lo Mein has plenty of vegetables added and has a nice flavor. We’ve always done take out, But they do have a very small seating area. Do they Deliver? I’m not sure. We’re only 12 minutes away so we usually just do takeaway. Oh, they do have specials, look at their brochure. If you spend a certain amount, you’ll get a free item. You just have to mention it to them when they take your order. note: we get their Crab Rangoon for free it’s basically a crabmeat mixture filling inside a fried wonton. Absolutely delicious. We’ve lived in the area since 2005. We tried a few local Chinese restaurants in the area. This and the one across the street are our favorites. However we started to get a bunch of wrong or missing items from the one across the road. So now we go here.

This place is great! We have ordered numerous times and tried something new each time and it's always delicious, especially the Peking Duck experience. It's hard to find a restaurant around here that actually knows how to properly prepare it. Although the waiting time takes a bit, please be patient because the food is worth the wait!

Been living in Manchester for over a year now and it's our favorite asian place to eat. Food and portions are pretty good for the price....

Hong Kong Garden is great! The staff is friendly, quick and efficient. The food is also great as well. This is our go to spot for Hampstead.
