Grand Palace Hotel Hannover

The history of the hotel building is very special. It used to be an administrative building of the German railway company. Now a good hotel, near the center of Hanover. Good relationship between price and performance. Friendly young breakfast buffet. Up there!

At least Fawlty Towers was funny... This is Tuesday night after the arrival from Great Britain. Pleasantly surprised by the size of the room on the 5th floor. Overtaken the railway, but not the end of the world. Sleep well. The 'Comedy' started when I woke up.no... and I mean NO...water in the room! I called the reception that had no idea what the problem was, and no suggestion what I could do. Breakfast was nice BTW. When I approached the reception, I had discovered that two of my colleagues were also affected by the same thing, but the other person I spoke with now was obviously not aware that this and that what should be done! I took my toothbrush to the office. When I returned to the hotel on Wednesday night, I approached the desk again and there was a lack of knowledge about the subject and regarding my raising the problem, very disappointing. I asked the receptionist to discuss this situation with the manager as the situation was unacceptable. I had a shower on Wednesday night, then I went to dinner. When we woke up on Thursday morning, the water stopped again and also for my colleagues! I got an apology for check-out, but it was a problem outside the hotels' control vaguely pointing out to the outside. It felt like a problem in 5 for me and my colleagues. Stock between certain times, maybe related to when other people at the hotel are using water. Really bad experience, I will not stay here again and will recommend that my (very big) organization remove this hotel from our list of places to stay in Hanover.

Stayed at this hotel during a short business trip to Hannover. 3 minutes walk from the central station. Historic on the outside and renovated/modernised on the inside. Breakfast was very good and wifi connection was perfect even though my room was at the furthest corner...on the 5th floor (top and I was worried about wifi : In perfect reach to a wide variety of restaurants, shopping districts, and more. Will make sure I book there the next time too!

The room was well appointed, clean and quiet. The breakfast was good. The hotel is centrally located and is about a 7 minute walk from the central hauptbahnhof. The hotel name suggests splendour and grandeur. But it looks very non descriptive from the outside and...you'd walk past it without noticing!
