Such a great please to eat! I've been here a handful of times and it's always hot and the services is fabulous!
The food was excellent. My mom had her own ideas about what we needed, like wanting a smaller portion of guacamole (which I disagreed with) and whether we needed more chips (she said no, but in reality, yes!). We opted for the guacamole without spices, and it was very good. The chips were warm, and when our food arrived, it was hot and fresh. The timing was spot on, but I definitely drank a lot of water and even added a lemonade since I was avoiding caffeine after my trip from Charlotte. This place feels like an American-style Mexican restaurant to me — think beans and rice with unlimited chips and salsa. I imagine tacos in Mexico might be a bit different, but there were four types of tacos on the menu that I didn't ask about. There’s nothing wrong with that; it was just what I expected. The key takeaway is that the food was hot and the service was quick. Our server earned a generous tip for that (and if you can, bring cash to get a discount in South Carolina!). I’d say this is the best bean and rice place I’ve been to. Overall, it was a delightful experience and a great find in this cozy city. I ordered the #1 with an extra taco, and while I'm not sure what Mom ordered, I can guarantee it was delicious, especially the margarita. I highly recommend this place! Just a heads up, they still use disposable menus, so the pictures here don't reflect what would be considered a normal dining experience.
I visited this restaurant for lunch on a weekend and was greeted warmly without any wait time. As first-time diners, we took a little while to explore the menu, and we found plenty of fantastic options to choose from! Our orders were served perfectly, with refreshing cold drinks and delicious hot food. I can’t wait to return for more!
I ordered the Vallarta lunch and opted to remove the green bell pepper, salad, and guacamole, as those were customizable choices. The dish, as depicted in the photo, included chicken, steak, and shrimp topped with cheese sauce, served with rice and tortilla chips on the side. A tortilla wrap was also included. The food was exceptional in terms of flavor, preparation time, and temperature, and I found it to be reasonably priced. I highly recommend visiting this restaurant if you haven't already—it's truly a gem in this small town!
