Let me first start off by saying, that this place has SO much history and I freaking love it! Our server, Peter, was absolutely amazing! I noticed the menu was a bit different than their other locations and I asked about it. I gave us a quick history on how Kush went about transforming this place. I love how the new owners have kept Stephens Deli nostalgia alive. They even have one of their day one original employees that still works there he probably made that potato salad you're eating ; The layout (tables/bar area is still the original of Stephen's Deli with a twist of Kush. The decor is awesome and very well thought out. I was over the moon with how cool the bathroom decor even was SO MIAMI! Although their burgers selection is a lot smaller than the other locations, you won't be disappointed. We had the Johnny Secada and the Frita by Kush burgers. Both delicious. Attached by a hallway, they have a side room that is a bar/lounge feel that had a live DJ playing. What a cool idea! If you are looking for a great burger or even a bowl of matzah ball soup, look no further and check out this vibe, you won't be disappointed.
Beautiful place and set up. Service was great. Now for the people in Miami/Hialeah calling this place pastrami heaven ,please get out of Miami a bit more. Presentation was A1 but taste was wasted. Any NYC bodega from Brooklyn to Bronx can make a Reuben 10x better than this place. Sauerkraut was tasteless without the sauerkraut punch and there was more fat in the pastrami than pastrami ???????????.....The croquetas are fire ???? And the chicken and waffles were OK we know a few places around Miami with better. They have something called sucia punch or something like that for $6 but comes in a toddler cup (drink is very good) very small fruit punch for adults with alcohol but toddlers size. Miami is all about trending and people visiting places just to tell you they been there and this is another one of those places that Miami people go there for the pics and not the tasty food.
While the location is a little out of the way from my home in Pinecrest, I was impressed by this amazingly cozy place. It 's like stepping into a time machine! I went on Henderson Junior Biggers Day, who was hired by the original Stephen 's Deli in November 1957 3 years after it opened. He is Udonis Haslem 's grandfather and is retiring this December. That 's what I call dedication and loyalty!???? Started things off with a citrus hazy NA IPA and Latkes, 6 small fried potato pancakes served with sour cream apple sauce. Main course was the Newman 's Jewban Sandwich. While the menu claims It was voted one of the 25 best sandwiches in the world, it doesn 't begin to describe the flavor of the corned beef! I 'm definitely coming back to the try the Vegan Chocolate Mousse. Be sure to visit the bathroom for the murals and to access La Cocina speakeasy.
Best latkes in town. Excellent service. Nice room. Delicious pastrami sandwich.
