Feedback gevenThis could have been a horrible experience turned around by great staff. Special shout out to Trinity for being amazing. First this place is more like a motel so definitely does not justify the price. I checked into a room on level 1 which appeared damp including the sheets. The housekeeping staff was quick to replace the sheets but the room in general had a smell which she couldn’t do anything about. Come Trinity she checked me into a level 2 room which was perfect. All rooms look updated which is a plus. Their Steakhouse is definitely worth a visit great good, great service!
Beautiful lodge like hotel. Wait staff was very courteous and attentive. Beautiful outside spaces to sit and enjoy the lovely views. Restaurant (Oak Steakhouse) was very good but a little pricey. Parking was a bit of an issue because of special events being held on the property. The only thing we didn’t love about the hotel was the room. We were in room 118 which was more like a second level hotel room (I.e. basement). There were windows and a nice balcony but the room was very damp and there were flies (yes, flies). The room badly needed a dehumidifier! Otherwise, it was comfortable and clean. Very nice bathroom. Needed another lamp in the room and a vanity type mirror above the desk. Also, if you have any issues with getting around on uneven ground or use a walking aid recommend you specifically request an upper level room! I’m the wing we were in, we needed to be part mountain goat to get up and down and around! Probably won’t stay here again.
Amazing location and great style. We have stayed at this property 3 summers in a row essentially since they opened (we were literally the first guests in one of their family suites). We keep coming back because of the great location and style/feel of the property we love the courtyard with the lawn games and the vibe and style of the property. We wish there was SOME acknowledgement of our loyalty (even just a welcome back would be nice. We also booked two back to back single night stays (which was less expensive for some reason than a 2 night stay). We made sure to let them know about this before we arrived via phone and then again upon check in. We were assured that it would be noted in our room reservation so we wouldn 't have to check in and then check out. Nonetheless, we got a call with attitude after the first night asking why all of our belongings remained in the room after check out. When we reminded them that we were staying another night they apologized and noted it hadn 't been in the records. Frustrating since we had been assured otherwise and made great efforts to remind everyone AND we have been loyal guests for several years.
We learned that maid service was only available upon request which was unexpected. The staff was indifferent, not unpleasant but not particularly enthusiastic. And there is no breakfast which is inconvenient considering the remote location.
A great retreat, the restaurant and bar was awesome! It is nice to have a great meal, sit under the stars for after dinner cocktails, then just walk a few steps back to your room. All the staff was great to work with.
