Canteen - Hillsville

First time at this restaurant and it was a pleasant experience on all accounts. The place is a bit dated and perhaps that is what makes it so special. The food we had was good and prices were too. We'll dine there again for sure.

The kind of diner and food that made America great. Pancakes bigger than your head. Really tasty and don’t fall apart when you add syrup.

Looks pretty crappy outside, but inside is well maintained. There is a counter that has probably been there for years and further in, tables and chairs in a section that probably was added on. The food is basically home cooking. The menu is rather limited, but then again, the town is small. Breakfast ends at 10:30 am. Worth going to just for the historical nature of the location, but the food is a plus.

We had breakfast. It was VERY good . My pancake was bigger than the plate and tasted great . Eggs were cooked perfect . Our waitress was very friendly. Would definitely recommend this restaurant!

Very nice downtown restaurant. Doesn't look like much from the outside but you will get plenty to eat. serving sizes were mush larger than expected. The pancakes were as large as the plate, I couldn't eat it all! That doesn't happen much to me!
