However, it quickly became busy as it is clearly a popular spot. There was a slight wait for our food (three full English breakfasts), but when it arrived, it was excellent. The portions were very generous and we thoroughly enjoyed our meal.
During my stay on the canal, I dined on lunch, breakfast, and coffee at this restaurant several times. The food was consistently delicious, particularly the fantastic mushrooms on toast. The staff were friendly and welcoming, making my experience all the more enjoyable. This restaurant became a highlight of my trip along the beautiful Ashby Canal, and has convinced me to return soon.
My first time at this charming restaurant. The food at the café is fantastic. Unfortunately, there are no vegan options available, so we opted for the delicious triple cooked chips, a salad each, and sliced gluten-free bread for chip butties. It was all very tasty and the apple juice was the best, not too sweet. The restaurant was temporarily closed for half an hour due to being overwhelmed with orders, but it was well worth the visit. Despite being very popular, the food and atmosphere are top-notch.
I really like the place but the pricing is too high. I enjoyed my burger but had to pay nearly £4 extra for chips when the burger was already around £14….. that’s just excessive. Please provide chips with the burgers and we will be back.
VERY slow service. Food came out at great intervals . I'd eaten mine before my husband's arrived along with the drinks. The staff behind the counter were rude when I asked if I could order food after being seated for 20 minutes. They will struggle if they get busy .
