Our family has been going to China Inn on the Southside for years and loved it. Unfortunately the last few times have been horrible. It’s been two times that I did not receive my sweet and Sour sauce for my Sweet and Sour Chicken combination dinner. The chicken is so dry you can barely chew it. The Crab Rangoons taste very old, the rice is extremely dry. We thought maybe they were having just an “off” day, but several orders later, the quality is still disappointing. For the price, we will sadly not be going back.
I walked in today expecting to see the familiar faces of the other owners, and well I seen it might be new owners ,but I said I'm gonna try what I came for anyway which was the wonton soup....and I'm so happy I did! It was so good ,fresh ingredients and nice and hot, it was the best wonton soup I've ever had!
Portion sizes are on the smaller side, which is good because you probably won’t want to eat everything.Sarcasm aside, my last few orders have been small (I’m not too demanding but a $13 combo plate should have more than 6 pieces of chicken), the fried rice isn’t cooked to order, and despite the food usually being hot and fast; it somehow tastes stale. The strip mall in which it resides is also filled with sketchy vape stores and a lot overwhelmed with pot holes.Hoping things improve as this place is dear, as well as convenient! China Inn South has long been a pillar of Holland’s Chinese scene. My folks used to take me to the old one on 32nd for many fondly remembered meals. Hoping things improve because we sincerely do enjoy this restaurant.
Mediocre. I got a large shrimp fried rice and 4 chicken wings and it was $20. Thay gave me 2 soy sauce packets for a large shrimp fried
