There's one basic bathhouse with flush toilets and one basic shower, but it's quite a distance away from most of the campsites (down a steep car road too) which makes it difficult and treacherous to use. Our original campsite (site 9) did not have a bear box, and all the sites are extremely close together so there's not much privacy. When I asked for a different campsite, the front desk person kind of just blinked at me and told me that all the campsites were far away from the bathroom. In the end they stuck us in a RV spot, sandwiched tightly between two RV spots but were at least a normal walking distance to the bathroom. While I was in the general store (which is pretty bare tbh, I would not rely on it for food), a fellow camper was told to get water out of the gardening hose next to the building to use. I also flagged to the general store staff that our original site didn't have bear box, to which she said well you definitely need a bear box and nonchalantly okayed us to use another campsite's bear box and that she'd come down and check. She never did.I was a little baffled because the main restaurant area is nice, but the staff all seemed a little oblivious. This place is probably great if you're staying in a cabin but I would not recommend tent camping.
We so enjoy this great spot in the mountains. Great food, drinks, relaxing environment and cooler than the Sacramento area.
Sat outside for dinner. My caprese salad with heirloom tomatoes was enjoyable. The tomatoes were perfectly ripe. The seared salmon was very good. Berry cobbler was the perfect finish.
Great restaurant. Food and service were spectacular. It’s a short drive from South Tahoe but well worth it.
Our first but not our last time going over there. Food was spectacular, drinks were marvelous, and ambiance was perfect! Run do not walk to this special place. Start with the lamb and end with the cobbler!
