Very small but very good. Chips and salsa was fresh and tasty. Try their rellenos and taco.

We’re on vacation from Ohio and found this place on accident. It’s in the middle of nowhere and we made a wrong turn. We love trying local, mom and pop type restaurants over chains and it was lunchtime so we stopped in. I got the Gordita and a Mexican taco, my husband and son both got the Mexican tacos (meats tried were barbacoa, chorizo, beef fajita, and ground beef). Everything was amazing! Made to order without a doubt. The guacamole was delicious (and I don’t like guacamole…I guess I’ve never had it made the right way haha) and the salsa had an amazing spice to it. It had a friendly, you’re family here, atmosphere. It was packed when we got there and there was only one table available with 2 chairs. I’m not sure if it was a customer or a worker, but someone literally gave us a chair from another table to make sure we could stay and eat. Most people inside seemed like they were regulars bc there was so much conversation going on between them and the sweet lady and younger (late teens early 20s) boy walking around serving everyone. We’re all really glad we got lost and found Taqueria Carmelita, but sad we don’t have food like this back home. We wish you guys the best of luck, but based on how it looked in there today you won’t need it, you seem like a well loved local hot spot. ?

This place had fresh taco meat! The service was Amazon and the salsa had some heat to it! Will be back when I’m in the area!
