Clinton's Soda Fountain - Independence

Such a cute place! Awesome root beer float! Friendly staff.

I took my grandsons there for the ' experience ' of having an ice cream cone in an old fashioned ice cream parlor and was VERY disappointed with the service. First off, the 3 young ladies working the counter seemed more interested in socializing with each other than helping customers. One of the three appeared to be working on homework on her laptop. The 3 of them acted as if their customers were an inconvenience to them. We ordered 3 one scoop Ice creams and she dished them up and rather than walking the 4-5 feet we were sitting at the counter) she called out and said we could come get them. Now mind you I was trying to supervise a 4 and 5 year old sitting on stools at the counter . We finished eating our ice cream and I decided I wanted some roasted nuts before leaving. The gal working the register again acted as if it was an inconvenience to her. The store did not close until 6 pm and these gals were cleaning at 4:30 when we walked in. They were more interested in closing up Shop than providing customer service. If this is how this shop is run it will be my first and last time in there. I 'll take my business where it 's wanted and the customer is not an inconvenience.

We love coming on Thursdays evening for the specials. Everything is just so good

This has to be one of my favorite time capsules in all of Missouri. I hope it is here for another 100 years!

Neat place to take a visit back in time! The staff was very friendly, establishment was clean and the ice cream was fabulous!!
