Went on Mondy evening. Had egg, hash browns, muffin. Slow service, 25 minutes, food was cold and greasy. Usually good in morning but evening very disappointed. Not real busy, staff had plenty of time to visit with each other, so must have been kitchen that was very slow. I will only go in a.m. now.
Food and service was very good. Waitress was always checking on us to see if we needed anything. The hostess, Annaheet, is always a pleasure to see. She's always wearing a smile, friendly and seems to care if you're having a good day. If she's not seating customers, she's helping to clean tables. Obviously she takes pride in her job AND the customers.
Wonderful comfort food.I got the tenderloin recently.Wow it was good. The breading wasn't too heavy. The meat was moist and it was very flavorful. The brioche bun was toasted... (You MUST toast the bun on a tenderloin sammich.)You always get a good meal at this hometown Cafe
We always enjoy the original Corner Cafe in Riverside. This was our first visit to the Independence location. Unfortunately, or visit here was not as wonderful as we expected, based on our previous experience. On our way to the table, the floor was a bit slippery, and it was obvious it needed a good cleaning. We ordered a chicken-fried-chicken and chicken-fried-steak (two of their specialities). The steak was ok, but the chicken was very dry and hard to chew (I was reminded of the turkey scene in Christmas Vacation). It was very overcooked. The cobbler was also not quite as good as in the past, and they were out of ice cream for the topping. The waitress, however, did a terrific job. We did not complain about the food, and perhaps we should have. So that is on us. The onion rings were also fantastic.
