Huerta's - Indio

This was great. The first compliment is for the table salsa and chip. This was a 10! A little sweet, very ? hot and tasty delicious. Excellent. My wife had shrimp quesadilla and I had a combo plate, taco, cheeze enchillada. Combo plates are a cop out but this was excellent. No skimping here. I would surely stop again if only for the salsa. Shrimp and home made tortilla were fantastic. The menudo looked great, probably what I'll have when I return.

STAY AWAY Visited a few years back and everything was fine? Arrived last night and we were seated? Asked the waitress if she could change the channel on the TV to watch our favorite football team and she said that only the manager could do that and he had left for the night? Then we waited for 15 minutes for her to return and she finally brought some chips? We then ordered a margarita which arrived another 20 minutes later?The chips were stale and the salsa was hot and runny? she reappeared after another 15 minutes and we ordered our food and by then we had been there for 45 minutes? We asked for more chips and she gave us a funny look and said OK? The second basket of chips arrives 10 minutes later?we asked her how things were going and she rudely stated that there were only two waitresses there and we should not expect any faster service?the food finally arrived after being seated for an hour? Our waitress was rude and made no reference to the slow service? Never again will we return!

I ordered the Desayuno Huertas and a coctel. The Desayuno was good potatoes needed a little more flavor now the coctel was not good it looked pale and did need more flavor. The reason I give it 3 stars is because the service was bad and the restrooms look like the gas station restrooms plus the women restroom was out of service.

Excellent Mexican food at a good value. If you crave authentic Mexican food, atmosphere and are patient (don't be in a rush and accept your server may or may not speak fluent english) then enjoy this fine restaurant.

The food was mid. It felt like it needed flavour. It takes about 5 minutes for the waiter to come. 10 minutes for drinks to arrive. 40 for the food to arrive. The place is fine the quesadillas are huge. The food is really expensive. Most things are about 20 dollars. Not worth it. Will never be back.
