The eggs were cold the hash browns were cold as well as the bacon. It was served in a matter of minutes. I believe the eggs bacon hash browns were cooked before we ever arrived at the cafe. At $12.00 it was certainly a disgrace
I had lunch with friends at the Coal Miners Cafe. We all had tasty meals, generous portions for fair prices, and there is a good variety on the menu. It is also our go-to spot for takeout because it's always consistent!
I have visited Cabot three times and was fortunate enough to find Coal Miners for breakfast on my first visit. While I love the food at Cabot, sometimes you just crave an old-school, hearty breakfast with eggs, bacon, home fries, pancakes, toast, and bottomless coffee. After indulging in that meal, you won't need to eat again until dinner. I enjoyed sitting there, listening to the fishermen at the next table, and seeing how the waitresses knew everyone. I loved the experience and will definitely return.
We were hungry after hiking in the Mabou Highlands and Coal Miners Cafe did not disappoint! The service was excellent, the waitress was very attentive and was ready with what we needed before we even asked. The food was amazing! Fresh, as described on the menu, and generous portions. I had the panfried haddock dinner, once of the best I've had anywhere. Boys had the Mountie Burger, came with all the fixings and a nice bun. The salads were great too. Thanks for making our short time in this area very satisfying!
The food was good. They apologized as soon as we sat down that they were short staffed and that our lunches might be a bit slow. But they weren’t slow from what we could see. We chose their fish and chips for lunch. We really liked the breading on the fish it was light and really crunchy. It was a good solid meal.
