From the minute we arrived and until the minute we left, we received 100% attention and exemplary service. Thank you so much to Peggy and Dudley for making us feel like friends immediately upon arrival. Not to outshine the perfection of the Patteson's and their staff, the Inn itself is a star. Beautiful and well appointed in every imaginable way from the exquisitely decorated rooms and cottages, the outdoor bath, the pool, landscaping ALL are styled with delight! We additionally enjoyed the whimsy and fun of the outdoor sayings and Detention. It is simply a fun place with the utmost panache, charm and flourish. And certainly, the delivered breakfast was an added delight! It was absolutely delicious and so amazingly served in its little container with the checked liner. Such a wonderful addition to an already fabulous stay!I would highly recommend Hope.and Glory as a destination and for any occasion! Thank you! We will be back!Rooms: Amazing, so charming!Nearby activities: Bicycles, Boating, Tennis, PoolSafety: Small town secure feeling.Walkability: Walk everywhere!Food drinks: Scrumptious.Noteworthy details: One of the best, most unique places I’ve stayed.
We found the staff arrogant, condescending, and very unwelcoming. We have stayed there several times over the last twenty years. Definitely a different experience. Maybe there’s a new owner?Updated: The reply from the owner to me again shows the attitude. Instead of just saying I 'm sorry your experience didn 't meet your expectations , they question why they cant find me in their system. I have stayed several times, the first being 20-25 years ago, if memory serves, but i don 't need to prove that to anyone. There were definitely more than two staff members that interacted with us. I remember 4.I am very fair in my reviews and almost always they are positive. In fact, I did two very positive reviews of two other places in Irvington. I am offering my honest opinion. We felt very unwelcome and wont return. I am sure many others have great experiences, but ours was not
An overdue review for a wonderful weekend we spent celebrating our wedding anniversary. Peggy, Dudley, Heather and Chef and their amazing hospitality made it a trip to remember. We enjoyed a cruise with Dudley with two other couples and spent a few hours enjoying wine and oysters while playing cribbage on the patio near the micro vineyard. The gourmet breakfasts that were delivered with a smile were fantastic, and we had the pleasure of enjoying a memorable dinner there as well. Hope we can return again someday to this charming inn to see y’all!
We spent the 4th of July in the vibrant little town of Irvington, VA at the incomparably comfortable Hope Glory Inn. Peggy and Dudley Patteson truly know how to make guests feel welcome in their lovingly restored, schoolhouse-turned-into charming inn. The decor is cottage chic, with eclectic and interesting furnishings, art and accessories. Breakfasts are served in room and are so tasty and creative! Fun place to visit at any time!Rooms: Each room is unique and distinctive and reflects care and attention in providing a nicely curated experience.Food drinks: Breakfasts are rotating each day and make for a delightful way to start the day. The on-property restaurant, Colonnade, is a special treat, with Chef Meseret preparing local seafood and other dishes in a creative, fresh and inspired way.
The innkeepers do everything possible to make you feel at home. We had dinner at the inn and Meseret the chef is absolutely fantastic. She makes the best crabcake we have ever had. The detention bar is well stocked with some great wines. We had a white Rioja which we had never had. Fantastic. We will be back as soon as possible.
