The portion sizes were acceptable but not generous, and it was padded out with too many diced potato pieces, as well as being slightly overcooked/overheated. However their Breakfast was certainly okay, and the accompanying choice of Tea was really good, and made over two full cups. On the downside the cost of £9 was expensive for what was served, especially in comparison to many similar venues. It was clean inside and the service prompt and efficient. Unfortunately it was also too chilly in there and needed to be much warmer to be comfortable.
We had a wonderful lunch at So Yummy Cafe! They accommodate many dietary restrictions such as gluten-free, dairy-free, vegetarian, and vegan. Even if you don't have dietary restrictions, there is still a wide variety of options to choose from. The staff was attentive and well-informed.
My husband found this place on the hill and told us he was waiting there, as we were in The Heart Foundation, which is a Charity Shop down the bottom of the Hill. We finally arrived and we chose our sandwiches, when a kind lady came over and took our order. i was not listening properly and she got the wrong bread for me, so she changed it for me, because i wanted brown bread not white. i had a lovely tuna, mayo and sweetcorn sandwich, which tasted lovely, since the bread was thick with a lot of filling in between. i had a pot of tea and got three cups out of it and the others had a veggie meal with a ham sandwich for my husband. The toilets are up some steps and not suitable for wheelchair or people with mobility issues, however, there is enough room for wheelchairs in the cafe. the staff were very friendly and helpful, especially when i was coming down the two steps at the front near to the counter, as i'm a blind person who finds steps and stairs difficult. i'll go back again if ever we are in Ride on holiday.
From the time you enter So Yummy until the time you leave its a wonderful experience. The staff couldn't be friendlier , the food is always really tasty and well presented and the place is spotless. Always a pleasure to frequent this cafe.
The gluten-free bread at this restaurant was hard and terrible, sourced from a Coop own brand and lacking in flavor. Only white gluten-free bread was available, leaving no other options. The bacon was undercooked and full of fat and rind that had not been removed. The pasta was overcooked and resembled mush, with a sauce that tasted like tomato juice poured over the meal. The herby potatoes seemed like frozen chunks quickly thrown into the oven, not meeting expectations. The salad was lackluster and uninteresting. Despite reading rave reviews and hearing about the great gluten-free options, I was ultimately disappointed with my dining experience. This was my first and only visit to Ryde, and I do not plan on returning to eat at this restaurant.
