We have eaten at most restaurants in Isola 2000 since skiing here each Easter over the last five years. However, this was the first time we visited the Yeti, having previously been put off by the grotesque Yeti figure and the bleak entrance to the restaurant up the stairs.Once inside, the restaurant is definitely the most sophisticated in Isola 2000 and the quality and preparation of the food cannot be surpassed. The hot stone (cannibal) is particularly good with steak, chicken and duck offered as the meat selection. In addition, this comes with three different mousses (Roquefort, mushroom and foie gras), a soufflé of vegetables and a delicious "rosti" type potato. The café or tea gourmand to finish with is a must.Cannot recommend this highly enough. Don't let the Yeti put you off !
I don't get the one star review at all. We had dinner. There's no doubt that Le Yeti has an image issue. The silly Yeti model by the entrance isn't exactly enticing. The room at night is over-lit and the style a bit old fashioned. But don't let this put you off. The service is spot on, and the food excellent. Most of us had the 'Cannibal experience' - a hot plate with beef, duck and chicken to cook on it. Comes with a plate of dips, potato and veg pie thing. Two had delicious salads. Wine list reasonably priced. We all loved it - it just needs a makeover! Six of us with a bottle of wine, 3 beers and soft drinks, one course only, about €200. Fair value.
It was a first experience in Isola 2000. We just arrived there and was really hungry and cold. We found this place occasionally. When we came in it seems to bee nice, with a good view, couple of tables has been occupied. So, we decide to have a lunch there. The menu for the restaurant was strange. 3 appetizers, 3 starters/salads and some main course dishes. Only the meat, no fish. So, if you are vegetarian - it's not for you. If you're with a kids - it's not for you as well. Kid's menu looks poor for this price. So, we decide to order pasta for our daughter. It was just two kinds of pasta - Carbonara and Gorgonzola (we asked for pasta with tomato sauce, answer - no, it's impossible). I thought for 16 euro pasta ought to be good as minimum! So, our order: appetizer - bread with garlic and Mozzarella, mixed green salad, Yeti hamburger and, finally, tagliatelle Carbonara. What it was in fact:6 pieces of baguette with garlic oil and old microwave-heated mozzarella Salad - green mix with Metro-made croutons, 4 pieces of tomato and one piece of fried goat cheese"Yeti hamburger" marked in menu as a specialty of this place with a bread and burger patty from Metro with a plastic taste, which has been made with a mushrooms and cheese and it gives a little bit of taste to this dish. Fries was medium warm and undercooked. And now - pasta. I think if some of Italian chefs try this carbonara, they made hara-kiri. it was a plate with undercooked tagliatelle (not al-dente, it was really undercooked), boiled in unsalted water and after that it was not put in fried-pan in sauce (butter, slab-silted and smoked ham, eggs), no, they put it in the plate, on top put some cutted ham and one egg-yolk. Also it was one 25 cl glass of draft beer opened several days ago.Total cost of this order - 68 euro (it was lunch and not in Michelin stared restaurant). But it's not the end of this show. Our daughter just try this pasta and said it's impossible to eat and it was true, this pasta even looks awful. So, when I asked for a bill I showed a full plate of pasta and explain what I'm not going to pay for this, they should take it on kitchen and try with a chef. Answer was excellent - "we cooked it, so you have to pay, it's not our problem it's not eatable". On my request to invite a manager or owner the man who served us answered "it's me". So, I hope you read it now, sir. It's your tips for 16 euro pasta. Bon continuation!
Food was good but in my taste not so "eventful". I'm sorry to say but I think most of the food was pre prepared/cooked and bought so and then served with some vegetables.I do hope they will start making there own food from the bottom since they all was so kind.
