It was very well organized, and everyone was so friendly, which made for a delightful experience. We picked up some leeks to take home and enjoyed breakfast by the lake in the back. It was fantastic that there was a parking lot available, so we didn't have to search for a spot. We arrived at 9:00 a.m., and those who came after us had to wait a bit longer for parking, but it wasn't anything too crazy.
This place is incredibly charming! I look forward to every visit when I'm in Ithaca on the weekends. It's not your typical farmers market; instead, it's a delightful experience filled with art and crafts rather than just produce. There’s often live music by the water, and you can stroll around for hours while enjoying a fantastic lunch or coffee from one of the vendors. It's a must-see for anyone visiting the area. The only downsides are the limited parking, which fills up quickly, and the prices, which are a bit higher than what most people expect at a farmers market. However, that doesn't detract from my enjoyment at all.
It is not a huge market, it has a lot of diversity. Beautiful peasant market with fresh high-quality products. The prices were slightly higher, but the quality of the products is also top notch. We have honey, soaps and bread. Wanted more things than market closed at 3 p.m. Parking lots are abundant, but it rained and it got all really muddy.
The Ithaca Farmer's Market is consistently a lively affair, featuring activities for children such as puppet shows and story readings, as well as live music from local bands. You can also enjoy exciting Cornell University and Ithaca College crew races. The market offers a wide variety of ethnic foods, fresh produce, organic meats, artisanal wines and baked goods, handmade crafts, and unique clothing, among many other offerings. For your convenience, there are ATMs on-site, and parking is free and readily accessible. Each vendor has its own set-up for transactions, but most now accept cash, credit cards, and digital payment options like Apple Pay.
Nice relaxing vibe with lots of great local produce and unique finds, plus a variety of international foods including Cambodian, West African, Thai, Indian samosas, crepes, gyros, handpies, and burritos...and amazing homemade ice cream with freshmade waffle cones! Highly recommend!
