Matador Nw Portland - Jennings Lodge

Dropped in for quick lunch on a Sunday. No waiting for a table not busy at 11:30a. Started with bowl of chips and salsa for the table. The salsa was excellent, and the chips fresh. Decided to have the street tacos. Added on the Guacamole — good choice. Had the 5 taco platter — 2 carnitas 2 chorizo and one chicken. All were great I liked the carnitas best though. This place is amazing. Great atmosphere and loved the food. I'm always on the hunt for Tex Mex places because they don't really exist back in NYC. I will say, the queso here isn't right. It tastes kind of floury maybe? Really enjoyed all the food and drinks though. Would definitely come back next time we're in Portland.

I love this place! Our server was Andre and they were so attentive and kind. One of the most lovely servers I’ve ever had. Kindly met every want and need and even went above and beyond!

Super nice area and atmosphere in the summer. They open up all the big windows to give a patio feel. The decor is top notch and all the food I have tried is perfect. I always take my friends from out of town here and recommend any burrito California style. I just get the tacos and beer.

Matador is a true Portland gem that I highly recommend trying. Incredible and warm ambiance, music, and lighting with excellent service and personable staff. The food is outstanding and the happy hour from 4pm-6pm and 10pm-1am is fantastic with a selection ranging from grande nachos, street tacos, and quesadillas for as low as $7. The drink selection is broad and the passionfruit margarita (pictured) is one of the best margaritas I have had. Matador is a must try!
