Behind The Waves - Jersey City

The food from this place is exceptional. I drove past it a few weeks ago and was originally skeptical, but decided to give it a try after reading some reviews. I'm glad I did. They're the same people from Las Olas in Hoboken, so the quality of the food is clearly restaurant quality. I got the Saucy Lady and the Black Angel signature rolls, and they were both fantastic. My wife used to work at a Japanese based bank that used to have sushi brought in for parties, and she said that the food from Behind The Waves was so much better than the sushi they brought in at work. This place definitely ranks up there in some of the best sushi I've ever had. After going there our first time this past Friday, we actually went back on Saturday and again on Sunday. I definitely recommend them.

Ordered from here. Honestly I am a huge critic of sushi. Growing up in Brooklyn where Sushi is king. This place is amazing. Definitely remind me of Brooklyn style Sushi. Sashimi and sushi extremely fresh and really good! Highly recommended!

I live in the Heights and they make the most delicious sushi that I've had! Their sushi chef, Chris, is excellent and truly shows his experience through the sushi! The delivery service is superb! Juan is quick and makes sure the food is delivered safely. And Cecil, the person in front, is kind and always gets my order right! Their lunch special is a bang for your buck, 10$ for 3 classic rolls, how can you beat that?!?! The food truck is stationed in a driveway which gives you the food truck feel with the quality of an outdoor restaurant with their seating. If you live in Jersey City and haven't tried Behind the Waves you're missing out on some great eats!

I had heard great things about Las Olas 'Behind the Waves ' and was looking forward to giving them a try. I had jury duty this week and lunch from Las Olas was definitely the silver lining to that experience! : I rode my bike over from the courthouse during our lunch break and was so glad I did. I got the 2 roll lunch special--a Godzilla and a spicy tuna roll. They were both delicious, service was quick and super-friendly. I 'm so glad to have this fresh, delicious sushi option right here in the Heights--I 'm already looking forward to next time.
