Overall, the quality of the roti was very good. The accompanying curry sauce was also enjoyable, with a mild spiciness that wasn’t overpowering. Next, I tried the Beef Rendang (lunch special). Let me start by saying that getting rendang right is notoriously difficult, especially with beef. In terms of flavor, it struck the right balance of spiciness and savoriness. It was a bit on the salty side, but I’m particularly sensitive to salt. My only criticism is that I wished the beef was a bit more tender—some pieces were, while others weren't as much. Nonetheless, I would definitely order it again, as it satisfied my craving quite well. The portion size was perfect for lunch, especially with an appetizer. As a note, the lunch special came with a spicy chicken soup that was really good! The Thai iced tea was just right—not too sweet and not watery. If I had to suggest anything, it would be for a slightly stronger tea flavor, but that’s just my preference. I would order it again. I plan to return to explore more of the menu and will definitely be bringing my family and friends in due time. The staff were prompt and courteous, and the dining area was clean. There were plenty of take-out orders as well.
We started with our favorite, Roti Canai, along with chicken satay and tom yum soup. The Roti Canai was fantastic, complemented by a delicious dipping sauce. The chicken satay was well-prepared and came with a side of peanut sauce. However, I was a bit let down by the tom yum; it lacked the traditional lemongrass flavor I love. Instead, it was thicker and creamier than I expected, and I prefer the lighter, more citrusy version. For our main course, we ordered seafood with tofu and some green vegetables, as well as Ayam Rendang (dark meat chicken in a special curry sauce). I absolutely loved the Rendang; it's a unique dish that I haven't seen at other Malaysian or Thai restaurants. The curry was creamy but not too spicy, and the chicken was exquisitely tender. Overall, we were very pleased with our meal and the service. This will definitely become one of our go-to places in Jersey City.
I visited for the first time and overall found the food to be fresh and delicious. The interior is quite spacious, and the waitstaff are very friendly.
We had a craving for Hainan Chicken on a Saturday morning and discovered this hidden gem through a Google search—an authentic Malaysian restaurant located near Society Hill in Jersey City. The food was delicious, and our server was attentive and friendly. Overall, it was a delightful and satisfying experience. We highly recommend it!
My experience at this restaurant was fantastic. The customer service was excellent, with our waitress enthusiastically suggesting various menu items even before we asked. The food was flavorful, and I have to say that the roti canai is the best appetizer – it's no wonder it's the first item on the menu. The mango sticky rice was the perfect dessert; not overly sweet and feels healthy. Everything was delicious, and I would highly recommend this place. I'll definitely be returning. The prices were also quite reasonable.
